From an early age, Joyce Jazz started painting, under the influence of her father, Paulo Jazz at his art school. Jazz completed a Computer Science course at Colégio Amadurecer in 2016, and is currently a student in Economics and Law at Colégio Amadurecer. Jazz’s painting style draws on Cubism as an influence and reference to create her works.
She has participated in group exhibitions in Angola including ‘FENACULT Group Exhibition’ (2013), ‘Anti-Covid-19 Plastic arts: a tribute to the artist Paulo Jazz’ at the Natural History Museum, Luanda (2021). In 2021, Jazz also participated in and curated the group exhibitions ‘Coletiva Cores de Guardiãs’ and ‘Cores e Paz’. Her work has also been shown internationally at the ‘Universal Exhibition Beyond the Feminine Art in Homage to the 58th Venice Biennale’ (2019), at the 2019 Venice Biennale, and at various platforms in France, Poland and the USA. Jazz’s work has been acquired for collections in Africa, Europe, Asia, South America and North America.
